“A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet” (Dodge, 1995)

Webquest activities allow students to be autonomous learners, and to be authors of their own knowledge as long as the activity last.

Its aim is to let students employ their time searching, using and transforming the informacion they find on Internet. We can choose any topic and create a fascinating webquest and allow student to learn about it.

The elements of a Webquest are: Introduction, Aim, Process, Source, Evaluation and Conclusion. In this way, students are led to different steps of the activity having as a final result not just information but knowledge.

I uploaded a document Miss Sandra Carbajal, Language teacher in St. George, prepared for us. You will find information about Webquest, different activities and examples. It is of great use!!

Prekinder – Deer blog obtained a rewarding mention in a Telefónica del Perú competition which aim was to discover talented teachers with creative and interesting blogs around the country. This competition grouped hundreds of blogs in different categories and only 20 blogs were selected.

Our colleague, Tatiana Ugaz teacher of prekinder class in St. George’s College, made it to the finals. She entered to the competition last year and her blog was recognized all around the country now it is a well-visited and recommended link of prestigious newspapers in Peru, “El Comercio” (http://blogs.elcomercio.com.pe/vidayfuturo/2008/03/el-blog-es-una-herramienta-mas.html) and “Perú 21” (http://peru21.pe/impresa/noticia/mundo-blog/2009-03-10/240740).

We want to congratulate and support Miss Tatiana in this very important work she is doing with her blog and her students. Her enthusiasm, dedication and hard work brought her excellent results.

We also know she is involved in many other national and international projects. Very well done Miss Tatiana Ugaz!
