It is becoming a tradition in our school to have our annual technology contest. It started in 2007 when our teachers were trained to use blogs.
As faster as technology grows and improves, our teachers’ enthusiasm and interest in using these new tools were growing, too. Suddenly, our student’s classes were dictated using Smartboards and the use of blogs and wikis became more important inside the classrooms not just for teachers, but for students and parents, too.
Along 2008 our ICT Team evaluated the process in the use of these tools and decided to expand the categories in our contest. All our teachers were participating, but only a few got to the final stage of evaluation.
These were the winners for each category in 2008:

Best blog: María Juliana Obregón (Infants School)
Best wiki: María Rosa Eckhardt (Lower School)
Use of PDI: Beatriz Vásquez (Lower School) and Virginia Tello (Upper School)
Effort: Leonor Caro (Arts) and Pilar Galup (Infants School)
Arroba: Brenda Grillo (Lower School)
Congratulations to all of them!!

St. George’s College staff has done an outstanding job to become Teachers 2.0. since 2007. Therefore, ICT members at St. George’s College have grown from 10 to 17 this 2009.
New members had a significant participation during 2008. Their work in the use of Blogs, Wikis, Smart Board, Del.icio.us, Slideshare or Issuu, Bloglines, Skype, and Social network was impressive.
ICT Team is pleased to welcome the following teachers: Brenda Grillo who got the first prize in ICT in 2008, Virginia Tello, Beatriz Vásquez, Maria Juliana Obregón and Pilar Galup whose achievements in applying ICT during lessons let them be part of this team. We will also have the support of Luis Felipe Rondón Junior School IT teacher , and Mr. Norbury our Headmaster.
We are sure their work will be a mutual benefit for them and the school community.
